Before there was MOPOP, there was one big, electrified dream: the Jimi Hendrix Museum. In the early ‘90s, Founder Paul Allen envisioned a space that would honor Hendrix’s hometown roots, psychedelic sound, and creative genius. Imagine a museum that blends galleries, music labs, live performances, and experimental exhibitions—all pulsing with boundary-breaking energy.

Sound familiar? That spark became the foundation of what MOPOP is today. And now, for our 25th anniversary, we’re going back to the beginning—one tiny brick at a time.

Meet Mini Jimi: a limited-edition collector’s set created in collaboration with Authentic Hendrix and Most Incredible Studio. Designed to honor Hendrix’s legacy through imaginative play, Mini Jimi transforms the myth and magic of one of music’s greatest minds into something you can build, hold, and proudly display.

It’s a nod to the original blueprint. Back when the museum was sketched as six sonic galleries (think jazz! R&B! blues! rock’n’roll!) with Sky Church, a Hendrix coinage, as its spiritual heart. While that vision evolved to make space for more artists, sounds, and voices, Jimi’s spirit never left the building. And now, you can hold a piece of that magic in your hands.

More than just a model, Mini Jimi is a tribute. A reminder that creativity can take any form—and that building a legacy starts with honoring the ones who paved the way. Each set is a nod to Hendrix’s enduring impact, from his soulful riffs to his visionary dreams of a communal, creative future.

Mini Jimi is available now in limited quantities, exclusively for in-museum pickup at the MOPOP shop. Proceeds help support exhibitions, preservation, youth education, and all the beautiful, loud, curious things we do.

MOPOP may not have become only the Jimi Hendrix Museum, but it’s always been Jimi’s house. He once imagined a place where music could unite us all, and now, we invite you to help build it—one brick at a time.
