MOPOP’s new Supper Fan Club serves up three unforgettable evenings where pop culture and cuisine collide. Each intimate experience invites you to feast on a menu inspired by beloved fandoms—from slurping Studio Ghibli-style noodles and comic book dumplings to second breakfasts in the Shire and a chillingly elegant Halloween supper worthy of Hannibal Lecter.

Indulge in themed cocktails, rare artifacts from the MOPOP vault, hands-on activities, and curator-led stories that bring each world to life. This is a one-of-a-kind dinner party for both the palate and the imagination.

Inspired by The Silence of the Lambs and the culinary stylings of Dr. Hannibal Lecter, this Halloween experience invites you to indulge in a menu that’s as refined as it is unsettling. Expect rich, autumnal flavors, artfully presented courses, and an ambiance that blurs the line between fine dining and psychological thriller. With rare horror artifacts, curated commentary, and just the right amount of unease—this is not your average dinner party. It’s chilling, elegant, and unexpectedly delicious.

What's on the menu?

Each event will have a custom menu inspired by the theme, presented reception-style with elevated heavy bites in our newly renovated Lounge space. Think MOPOP’s take on ramen (delicious enough to excite your inner Ponyo), lembas bread (one bite enough to fill the stomach of a grown man), and, of course, fava beans and liver (best paired with a nice chianti).

Thirsty? We’ll also have a full bar with themed cocktails (and mocktails). Your ticket includes one drink per person, and members will leave each event with a custom MOPOP glass!

Specific menus will be shared approximately one month before the event to allow our Chef to customize the offerings with seasonal ingredients.

What will we do?

Food and beverages will be available starting at 6:30pm for each event, but we hope you’ll join us starting at 6pm to explore your theme’s selected gallery. Our Chief Collections and Exhibitions Officer, Jacob McMurray, will join you to share inside information and answer any questions you might have!

Once we move into the Lounge, you’ll hear about the evening’s culinary inspirations from Chef Athan, have a chance to see an artifact up close, participate in themed activities, and, of course, eat and drink with fellow fans.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code, but we hope you’ll join us in the spirit of the event! Costumes, themed t-shirts, mash-ups, or your regular street clothes are all welcome! (For our hobbit friends, please note that we do, regrettably, require shoes…) Any costumes will need to abide by MOPOP’s Costume Policy:

COSTUMES:

Costumes are allowed, provided guests abide by the following:
- Costumes must fit through a single doorway (less than 85.5-inches tall X 35-inches wide).
- Costumes cannot include pyrotechnics, fire, smoke, steam, fog, helium balloons, etc., and are subject to MOPOP building policies.
- No nudity, lewd or offensive costumes. This includes gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, culture or disability.
- No full or partial body paint in place of clothing.
- Photo identification may be required for guests with face concealing paint, prosthetics, or masks.

COSTUME WEAPONS:

Functional weapons are strictly prohibited.
Costume weapons must be inspected at the security station located at the event's entrance and must conform to state and federal law.
Projectile costume weapons must be rendered inoperable.
Costume swords must be tied to the costume so that they cannot be drawn.
Costume weapons will be tagged with a wristband after security inspection.
Individuals not willing to have their costume weapons inspected or tagged, or are not willing to comply with the above, will be asked to leave the premises.

Is there a clear bag policy?

Effective February 2025, MOPOP guests must abide by the museum’s Clear + Small Bag Policy.

Types of bags permitted:

Plastic or Vinyl clear bags only. Dimensions 14’w x 14” h x 6” d
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
Small clutch bags or wallets that do not exceed 4.5”w x 6.5”h x 2” d with or without a handle or strap
Medically necessary bags including diaper bags

Prohibited bags

Backpacks, briefcases, purses (other than small clutch bags), tote bags, drawstring bags, duffel bags, oversized bags, and any bag that is not clear and/or exceeds the permitted size
Any bag deemed suspicious by security personnel

Bag inspection:

All permitted bags are subject to inspection by security personnel at entry points
