MOPOP’s Teacher Professional Development occurs throughout the school year and features workshops, tours, curriculum development, and networking opportunities.

Our goal is to create experiences in which teachers engage with pop culture and each other; where we provide useful teaching tools that are interactive, fun, equitable for all learners, and easy to use.

FREE Educator Day: She Marches in Chinatown at MOPOP

Film screening, educator panel, performance, and exclusive meet-and-greet!

Join us at the museum Saturday, September 21 as we celebrate 70 years of community, cultural heritage, and powerful women with the Seattle Chinese Community Girls Drill Team, the only team in the world to combine Chinese opera costumes with American military-style drills.

Event highlights include:

  • Screenings of the drill team documentary She Marches in Chinatown at 11:00am and 2:00pm in Sound and Vision Theater
  • A panel discussion focused on curriculum development and classroom learning, after the 11:00am screening
  • Live team performances at 12:15pm and 3:15pm in Sky Church
  • A costume meet-and-greet, exclusive to MOPOP Members and educators at 1:00pm in Learning Labs
  • Free admission to the museum for the entire day
