Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction

Please join the Museum of Pop Culture's (MoPOP) Sr. Curator Brooks Peck for a virtual adventure through Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction. Packed with artifacts from iconic films and television shows, this virtual experience explores the incredible range of storytelling found in science fiction: from Star Wars to Terminator, from big-budget Men in Black to the Philip K. Dick-inspired Blade Runner to the Battlestar Galactica series. We encourage you to join us as we explore this dynamic and immersive space and investigate numerous alternate universes. What secrets will you unearth?

The tour is a high-level look at the following galleries: Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses, Guitar Gallery, Wild Blue Angel: Hendrix Abroad, 1966-1970, and Pearl Jam: Home and Away. Visitors will hear in-depth stories of Jimi Hendrix and the origins of punk, and grunge, and experience a curator-led exploration of unique artifacts such as Hendrix’s handwritten lyrics, Brandi Carlile’s guitar, Eddie Vedder’s songwriting notebooks, Kurt Cobain’s first smashed guitar, and many more.

Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic

Using artifacts from iconic films like The Wizard of Oz, The Princess Bride, and Harry Potter, Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic invites audiences on a fantastical journey to unearth the inspiration behind the genre’s most magnificent creations. See the Wicked Witch of the West’s hat from The Wizard of Oz, weaponry from The Lord of the Rings, the battle headdress and staff used by the White Witch in The Chronicles of Narnia, and other iconic costumes and props from TV and the silver screen.
