Hip-Hop History Month Celebration

November 7, 2026

Celebrate Hip-Hop History Month at MOPOP with an afternoon of music, fashion, and creativity from Pacific Northwest artists.

Inspired by MOPOP’s latest exhibition, Styled by the Streets: Black Women in Hip-Hop Fashion, this special daytime program explores the creative connections between sound and style. Experience an elevated listening session with Seattle hip-hop artist Oblé Reed, featuring his LINDENAVE! project, live commentary, and a fashion showcase of designer La Paisa’s pieces inspired by tracks on the album.

Then, be part of an intimate panel discussion with Ukeme Ekpoh, founder of So Pressious and Styled by the Streets featured contributor. Hear about her creative process and the artistry behind the custom nails featured in the exhibition, alongside images, nail examples, and equipment.

Guests can support the local community through a clothing drive hosted by Oblé and his team. Bring winter clothing and other gently used items to help support communities in need across the Seattle area.
