Celebrate the queen inside us all with an evening of fashion, art, and music at an opening party for A Queen Within: Adorned Archetypes.
Focusing on providing space for creative exchange and empowerment, MoPOP invites guests to explore how fashion can be used as a tool to examine archetypes and identities alongside local fashion designers and creative interpreters whose work intersects with that explored in the gallery.
Grace Love and The Dirty Church will treat guests to a live set filled with epic vocals, groovy bass, and perfect brass. Witness fashion in action with curated music video blocks, and take your turn on the dance floor with DJ sets throughout the night. Keep an eye out for pop up performances by the Filthy Femme Corps.
MEMORIES OF MONARCHS
In the intimate JBL Theater, hear storytelling group She Is FIERCE tell tales of finding the queen within themselves.
BEYOND THE RUNWAY
See the intersection of tech and fashion come to life at a pop-up fashion show featuring members of Seattle’s Make Fashion community. Express your imagination with an artist-led participatory activity focused on the creative process of fashion design, and cap the night with a snapshot in our student-designed photo op.
SHE IS FIERCE
In collaboration with MoPOP, “she is FIERCE” presents six female-identified and genderqueer storytellers who will be performing pieces about the stories that live in their clothes, the way they express themselves through style, and the things they love or reject about fashion.
A Queen Within: Adorned Archetypes is organized by Barrett Barrera Projects and curated by MUSEEA.
