An iconic item from deputy Headmistress, Transfiguration teacher, and head of Gryffindor House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is now on display inside Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic at the Museum of Pop Culture.

Just inside the exhibition's entrance, visitors will find the hat worn by Dame Maggie Smith as Professor Minerva McGonagall in the 2001 film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. A stern disciplinarian, but also a fierce advocate for good who often helps protagonist Harry Potter and his allies, Professor McGonagall dons the black velvet headpiece with pheasant feathers in the first film of the Harry Potter series, notably when Smith's character places the Sorting Hat on Harry Potter.

If McGonagall's hat isn't enough Harry Potter fandom for you, venture a bit further into Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic and you'll come across an entire case dedicated to the Wizarding World. Installed earlier this year were a few objects used in the film series, including Harry Potter's hero wand (2001-2011; Private Collection); the glasses worn by Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter (courtesy of Aaron Kybartus); a clapperboard used in production of the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001; Private Collection); and a Wanted poster for Sirius Black from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004; Private Collection).

So, what are you waiting for? Scurry over to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters (or your preferred method of Muggle transportation) to see all of our Harry Potter artifacts in person on your next trip to MoPOP!
