Movies at MoPOP Presents "The Comeback" - Watch 'Kiki's Delivery Service' (1989) With MoPOP + Special Guest Hoai-Tran Bui of SlashFilm Saturday, December 18!
“I was feeling blue, but I'm better now.”
Kiki is 13, which means she must now leave home to become a full-fledged witch. With just her broom and her black cat Jiji, Kiki must learn to make it in a new town. When her witch powers start to falter, Kiki has a crisis of faith. Can she get over her mental block to become the witch she’s meant to be?
Watch Kiki's Delivery Service (1989) with the Museum of Pop Culture at 6 p.m. PT this Saturday, December 18, as we celebrate the last film in our Movies at MoPOP online watchalong film series, "The Comeback."
Hosted by MoPOP Public Engagement Producer Kasi Gaarenstroom, who will be joined by special guest Hoai-Tran Bui of SlashFilm (learn more about her below!), our final installment in "The Comeback" series exemplifies the uphill battle and unlikely heroes achieving the impossible. After over a year of isolation and untold hardship, we hope "The Comeback" series inspires viewers to reflect on their own comeback stories from the last 18+ months. Whether you got a new job, started a new hobby, or just made it through the pandemic as best as you could, we hope you'll join the watchalong and share your stories with us.
