A Message From Our CEO

SEATTLE, WA (September 8,  2023) - I want to provide an update and confirm that MoPOP didn’t remove any of JK Rowling’s artifacts or her name from the museum. There continues to be incorrect articles about this topic that we’re trying to correct, but I can assure you that nothing was removed because of any media coverage.

Under my leadership as the new CEO, we have practices in place to protect our employees and brand. All views stated by MoPOP are vetted and delivered directly by the organization. 

MoPOP is moving towards the culture of philanthropy and our mission of promoting diversity and inclusion, in the next three years MoPOP is looking to create opportunities for underrepresented voices in the arts and culture sector. 

We want to root ourselves in empathy, collaboration, and empowerment.  We believe that by valuing and amplifying diverse perspectives we can create a more inclusive society where everyone’s unique talents and contributions are recognized and celebrated. 

In addition, MoPOP has a commitment to diversity and inclusion leveraging the power of arts to drive social change, by championing artists from marginalized communities and providing platforms for their voices to be heard and seen on our museum walls and exhibits. 

Here at MoPOP as we move forward in this third decade of the organization, we are dedicated to driving social impact and fostering diversity and inclusion through the culture of philanthropy.
