'It's Coming From Inside the House!': Watch 'The Lost Boys' With MoPOP

'The Lost Boys' Movie Poster

Throughout the month of May, It's Coming from Inside the House!, the Museum of Pop Culture's horror film watchalong, is expanding its list of 100 Horror Films To See Before You Die. Working with our horror community we'll dig back into the list, see what we missed, and explore how we can start the work of updating the list every year to include the best the horror genre has wrought from the depths of darkness.

Each week we'll have a new guest pick a film to watch that they feel deserves a spot on the list as it expands, and they'll join the watchalong to make the case for its inclusion.

This week, MoPOP Manager of Public Engagement Robert Rutherford is joined by guest Roxanne Benjamin, writer/producer/director whose credits include Southbound, XX, V/H/S, and Creepshow. Roxanne chose this week’s selection, The Lost Boys, a film that is equal parts family character study, Goonies-style adventure movie, vampire romance, and sweaty music video.

Here are a handful of program elements that you can expect to see this Friday night:

  • Pre-film introduction with Robert Rutherford, MoPOP's Manager of Public Engagement, and special guest, writer/director/producer Roxanne Benjamin
  • Cheap-as-heck quarantine cosplay
  • Cocktails, mocktails, and beer pairing recommendations
  • Chat with the host and guest and other fans during the film
  • Post-film discussion on the film's enduring influence on the genre

If you happen to own a copy of the film, get it queued up at 7 p.m. PT on Friday, May 22! Otherwise, here's where you can find The Lost Boys online:
