Matthew DelCiampo is on faculty at the University of Puget Sound and earned his Ph.D. from Florida State University. His research examines the intersection of race, environmentalism, and popular music and his forthcoming book considered how whiteness and environmentalism characterize American indie music. A recent article in MUSICultures explores recent American indie bands that promote themselves through "the cabin in the woods" in order to communicate exclusivity and creative prowess.
