Jewly Hight is a music critic and journalist based in Nashville who frequently maps the landscapes of country and roots-leaning music for National Public Radio/NPR Music, The New York Times and Vulture. She was the inaugural recipient of the Chet Flippo Award for Excellence in Country Music Journalism and is the author of Right By Her Roots: Americana Women and Their Songs.
