Dorothy Finan (she/her) is a PhD researcher and Daiwa Scholar in Japanese Studies at the School of East Asian Studies, University of Sheffield, UK. She is interested in the significance of popular musics to socioeconomic identities, particularly those of East Asia. Her doctoral research focuses on the portrayal of adolescence in Japanese idol music.
