Charles L. Hughes is the Director of the Lynne & Henry Turley Memphis Center at Rhodes College, where he teaches courses and designs programs. He is the author of the acclaimed Country Soul: Making Music & Making Race in the American South, which was released in 2015 by UNC Press. He has written and spoken on a wide variety of topics, and is currently working on books about professional wrestling and Bushwick Bill.
