How Long 'til Black Future Month?

by N.K. Jemisin

N.K Jemisin is not only revered as one of science fiction’s most talented contemporary Afrofuturist writers, but is celebrated for featuring LGBTQ+ characters in many of her works. Her characters are as diverse in identity as they are in personality and backgrounds. She represents the LGBTQ+ spectrum in her novels and short stories by writing characters of different races, genders, sexualities, and species.

We will be exploring two of Jemisin’s short stories from How Long 'til Black Future Month? Join host Misha Stone from the Seattle Public Library on June 22 and 29 to discuss "Effluent Engine" and "The City Born Great" with us and other N.K Jemisin fans.
