Traveling Exhibits

Interpretive and interactive traveling exhibitions that present compelling stories about music, science fiction, cinema, and pop culture.

In September 2003, MoPOP launched its traveling exhibition program with Artist to Icon: Early Photographs of Elvis, Dylan and The Beatles. Since then, MoPOP has created a number of traveling exhibitions—from Annie Leibovitz's American Music to Sweet Home Chicago: Big City Blues, 1946-1966 to Disco: A Decade of Saturday Nights—that have been shown at cultural institutions around the world.

MoPOP’s traveling exhibitions allow visitors to immerse themselves in the wonderful worlds of music, science fiction, and pop culture with a wealth of hands-on activities offering access to the latest technological advancements, musical innovation, and cinematic marvels. These unique exhibitions employ one-of-a-kind artifacts, photography, graphics, posters, zines, and interactive installations that introduce original narratives, and engage and inspire visitors of all ages.

Exhibitions vary in size, presentation, and cost allowing host institutions to offer a wide range of artistic and educational experiences to their communities. Rich content, intuitive exhibition design, and installation and maintenance expertise are combined into a convenient package focused on exceptional customer service.
