Partner Camps


Grades 6–8

A backstage pass to the worlds of theater and music. Sneak behind the scenes at Seattle Children’s Theatre, explore the roles of theater artists, and use improvisation to develop original scenes to perform in class. On-site at MoPOP take the next step in your musical journey: learning the craft of songwriting. Students will be assembled into bands and learn to write songs by studying their favorite artists before recording their own originals. Basic knowledge of an instrument is a plus, but not required.

Compose and Create

Grades 4–6

Combine music and acting to learn how to express character through song! At Seattle Children’s Theatre we will use improvisation and story structure to develop original works for in-class performances. On-site at MoPOP, we’ll investigate the roots of pop music, create songs inspired by your favorite artists, and record your own original music.

Rock ‘n’ Rolling!

Grades 6–8

Become a rock star at Seattle Children’s Theatre and MoPOP. Learn acting skills, songwriting techniques, and more to bring your music to life in our new music video camp. At Seattle Children’s Theatre, we’ll explore acting for the camera and learn how to express character on film. At MoPOP, we’ll learn about the art and history of music videos, visit the galleries, and write and film our own parody music videos on location at Seattle Center!

Rock ‘n’ Science

Grades 2–3

Discover the science behind sound in this amped up week! At MoPOP, artists will take you on a tour to explore rock ‘n’ roll. Join a group and form a band by picking a name and collaboratively composing a song that will be recorded for family and friends. Experiment with electric guitars, keyboards, theremins and tuning forks. Then travel to Pacific Science Center to explore vibration, pitch and volume as you investigate your vocal cords and create your own instruments. Find out how tubes, wind and string combine to make the sounds of science.

Gain valuable professional and leadership experiences while earning service learning hours as a Summer Camp Teen Volunteer!

Campers grades 2-8 experience new musical genres, learn performance techniques, and embrace their creativity at MoPOP’s summer camps, in partnership with Seattle Children’s Theatre and Pacific Science Center.

Summer Camp Teen Volunteers provide critical support for camp teachers and participants through everything from assisting with check-in to supporting classroom learning and exhibit exploration.

Applicants must be rising 10th graders or higher and age 16 by the training date, June 14.
