APPLICANT CONDITIONS

Permitted Use: You may use the Images or Excerpts only for the purpose described below under “Project Description.” The type of use granted is strictly limited to the purpose, period of time and territory specified on the license or permission paperwork that will be issued after payment has been received.

Copyright and Third-Party Rights: MoPOP has not determined copyright status for many of the photographs/visual materials in the collection. Therefore, MoPOP is acting only as an owner of the physical original. You acknowledge and agree that MoPOP may not be the owner of the copyright and that any permission granted does not constitute a copyright license. You agree to obtain any authorizations from third parties as may be required for your use of images.

Credits: You agree to use the credit line provided in the licensing or permission agreement.

Contribution of Copy: Unless otherwise agreed, one complimentary copy of the product, publication or publicity material containing a reproduction of the image must be supplied to MoPOP.

Fee: Fees are dependent on the resolution and quality of items requested. Media is provided only after the invoice has been paid.

REPRODUCTION SERVICE FEES

MoPOP permanent collection items and oral history reproductions often include staff time and expertise to complete. Reproductions and digitization are performed by museum staff, trained in the use of scanners and cameras that are designed to minimize potential object damage. Reproduction fees reflect this staff time.

The following fees will be assessed for the digitization of objects/media from MoPOP’s collection. When the completed request form is returned, an invoice and relevant paperwork will be issued for the fee charges. The charges must be paid in full before orders will be processed. Fees will not be refunded.

Most images will be 300ppi at 6 inches on the longest side, unless additional resolutions are requested.

Discounts on fees may be offered for non-profit uses, research, or for self-published works. MoPOP reserves the right to waive or modify fees or other requirements on an individual basis at the discretion of MoPOP. Such waiver of fees can be made only upon approval of written application.
