MoPOP’s Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses Travels to Brazil Summer of 2017

SEATTLE—The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) announced a special tour of its critically-acclaimed exhibition, Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses. Following a six-year run at MoPOP, the most extensive exhibition of memorabilia celebrating the music and history of Seattle grunge luminaries Nirvana will travel to Brazil during the summer of 2017.

“With more than three million visitors from all over the world, Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses has had a tremendous run at MoPOP” said Jacob McMurray, Senior Curator at MoPOP. “It’s exciting to have this opportunity to share the exhibit with the passionate fans in Brazil where Nirvana played nearly 25 years ago to their largest audience ever.”

Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses features over 200 rare artifacts tied to the band and more than 100 oral histories from key figures in the independent music scene of the 1980s and early ’90s.

The last day to see the exhibit at MoPOP will be March 19, 2017.
