SUMMARY

The Group Sales Manager will focus exclusively on revenue production through museum group sales. The ideal candidate is strategically driven with a strong commitment to quality and service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED)

  • Develop a year-round sales strategy for group ticket sales (Defining group benefits and relationship touchpoint; creating marketing plans; building relationships with tourism organizations, community groups, educational properties and other potential customers)
  • Prospect, qualify, and set sales appointments
  • Make a minimum of twenty outbound calls per day and a minimum of seven appointments per week
  • Manage and report weekly on a pipeline of prospects
  • Meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and long-term sales goals
  • Build and foster relationships with new business accounts
  • Schedule and process group payments
  • Survey groups post-visit and aggregating feedback for Senior Leadership team
  • Provide excellent care and quality service to all customers
  • Work in harmony with team members and those from other departments
  • Assist management with sales campaigns, events, and after-hour activities  

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Prior ticket sales experience required
  • Experience managing a pipeline of activity and hitting sales goals
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Ability to solve problems quickly
  • Effective organizational skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, and ability to interface at all levels
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while organizing work and achieving excellent results on schedule
  • Self-starter, good at multitasking, and networking
  • Demonstrate a high level of energy and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly verbal
  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Salesforce, Tessitura, or similar CRM preferred
