'It's Coming From Inside the House!': Watch 'Ginger Snaps' With MoPOP

"Ginger Snaps" Movie Poster - MoPOP Watchalong

Throughout the month of May, It's Coming From Inside the House!, the Museum of Pop Culture's horror film watchalong, is expanding its list of 100 Horror Films To See Before You Die. Working with our horror community we'll dig back into the list, see what we missed, and explore how we can start the work of updating the list every year to include the best the horror genre has wrought from the depths of darkness.

Each week we'll have a new guest pick a film to watch that they feel deserves a spot on the list as it expands, and they'll join the It's Coming From Inside the House! watchalong to make the case for its inclusion.

This week, at 7 p.m. PT on Friday, May 8, MoPOP Manager of Public Engagement Robert Rutherford is joined by guest Amie Simon, who is a walking encyclopedia of horror and runs the aptly titled I Love Splatter! blog. Amie chose this week’s selection, and we’re getting super angsty with the teen werewolf cult classic Ginger Snaps.

Here are a handful of program elements you can expect to see this Friday night:

  • Pre-film introduction with Robert Rutherford, MoPOP's Manager of Public Engagement, and special guest Amie Simon of horror blog I Love Splatter!
  • Cheap-as-heck quarantine cosplay
  • Cocktails, mocktails, and beer pairing recommendations
  • Chat with the hosts and other fans during the film
  • Post-film discussion on the film's enduring influence on the genre

If you happen to own a copy of the film, get it queued up at 7 p.m. PT this Friday! Otherwise, here's where you can find Ginger Snaps online:
