'It's Coming From Inside the House!' Presents A Nocturnal Emissions Takeover With 'Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight'

'It's Coming From Inside the House!' - 'Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight'

It's Coming from Inside the House!, the Museum of Pop Culture's horror film watchalong, is expanding its list of 100 Horror Films To See Before You Die. Working with our horror community we'll dig back into the list, see what we missed, and explore how we can start the work of updating the list every year to include the best the horror genre has wrought from the depths of darkness.

Each watchalong we'll have a new guest pick a film to watch that they feel deserves a spot on the list as it expands, and they'll join the watchalong to make the case for its inclusion.

This month on It’s Coming from Inside the House!, to celebrate Juneteenth and the work of black horror creators, we’re passing the mic to guest host Isabella Price from Nocturnal Emissions, a multi-media experience with a podcast, blog, YouTube channel, and live show in Seattle, focused on the inclusive and diverse representation of horror and genre media.

Isabella has chosen the film Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight and will be joined by special guests from the burlesque community, including Nox Falls (Seattle burlesque performer), Chauncey K. Robinson (journalist/film critic), and Markeia McCarty (Nerdist, Snarled/Something Scary Podcast) to provide commentary and engage with other fans during the film.

Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight marked the series’ final evolutionary turn from its EC Comics roots of the 1950s, which blossomed beautifully as a television series on HBO, and finally made it to the big screen under the direction of Ernest Dickerson, who had previously worked as a cinematographer on music videos and several Spike Lee films.

Here are a handful of program elements that you can expect to see:

  • Pre-film introduction with Isabella Price from Nocturnal Emissions, and special guests Lavish Leone, Nox Falls, and Saira Barbaric.
  • Cocktails, mocktails, and beer pairing recommendations
  • Chat with the host and guests and other fans during the film
  • Post-film discussion on why Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight deserves a spot on our list of 100+ Horror Films to See Before You Die

If you happen to own a copy of the film, get it queued up at 7 p.m. PT this Friday! Otherwise, here's where you can find Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight online:
