SUMMARY

MoPOP is seeking an intern to help research and identify exemplary artworks created in a popular video game platform. The end goal is to curate a selection of artworks that demonstrate the depth and breadth of what can be achieved in the medium. The intern would organize this material by creating a digital catalog.


Job Duties:

  • Create spreadsheet lists of the artwork
  • Collect and organize photos and screenshots
  • Create an index and finding aid of the artwork
  • Other duties as assigned


Learning Opportunities

  • Become familiar the exhibition design and development process. The intern will have many opportunities to shadow the curators on other aspects of the exhibition.
  • Gain experience in cataloging and finding aid creation
  • Gain insight into the inner-workings of MoPOP


Position Requirements

  • Current college or graduate student ideally pursuing Museum Studies or Library Science coursework or career
  • Commitment to and enthusiasm for the MoPOP mission
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-starter
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Able to think and problem-solve creatively
  • Able to commit to 4-8 hours a week preferred; some flexibility regarding terms and hours
  • Being a video game fan isn’t required, but would make the internship more enjoyable
  • Must be able to provide 3 references and pass a background check
