ABOUT THE PANELISTS
ARIANNE SUTNER
Producer and Head of Production
Arianne Sutner is LAIKA's Head of Production and shares Producer credits with Travis Knight on ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings, and Missing Link. Prior to LAIKA, Arianne produced Animation/FX for Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and served as FX Unit Production Manager for Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds. Her additional credits include James and the Giant Peach, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, as well as a wide array of live-action and animated television shows, commercials, and shorts.
BRAD SCHIFF
Animation Supervisor
As the Animation Supervisor for LAIKA’s next film Missing Link as well as the studio’s Oscar®-nominated Kubo and the Two Strings, The Boxtrolls, and ParaNorman, Brad Schiff oversees LAIKA's world class team of animators, who consistently push the art of stop-motion animation beyond its perceived limits. Brad originally honed his stop-motion skills on popular television shows including Vinton Studios’ The PJ's and feature films including Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and The Fantastic Mr. Fox. He earned an Oscar® nomination in the VFX category and won a Visual Effects Society award for his contribution to Kubo and the Two Strings.
CHRIS BUTLER
Director, Screenwriter, Character Designer
Chris Butler was Co-Director on LAIKA’s ParaNorman, for which he also wrote the original screenplay. Missing Link marks his return as both writer and director. Aside from developing his own projects, he was Head of Story and writer on Kubo and the Two Strings, and Story Supervisor for Coraline. Prior to LAIKA, Chris amassed a decade’s worth of experience designing and storyboarding on numerous high- profile animated projects, including Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. His work has been nominated for an Academy Award®, a BAFTA, several Annies, and the first GLAAD award nomination for an animated feature.
DEBORAH COOK
Costume Designer
Originally from England, Deborah Cook has designed and built costumes for every LAIKA film. Her designs for Kubo and the Two Strings won a nomination for Excellence in Fantasy Film by the Costume Designers Guild, and she received a Visual Effects Society nomination for Coraline. Detailed, in-depth research, innovation in small-scale fabric technology and expertise in engineered fabric movement has made Deborah the principal stop-motion costume designer. Other film credits include Corpse Bride and The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Deborah earned her BA Honors degree and did post graduate study in fine art sculpture at St. Martin's College in London.

We will have soft drinks, a mocktail, concessions, and a limited food menu in South Lobby and Culture Kitchen. The Beer Garden in Retail and the Lounge will offer alcoholic beverages for those 21+.

All museum galleries except Sound Lab and Indie Games will be open to attendees, including the world premiere of Hidden Worlds: The Films of LAIKA and Pearl Jam: Home and Away, closing soon on April 23.
We will be providing ADA seating and ASL interpretation. Sound & Vision Theater will be a dedicated sensory-friendly space with lowered lights, lower volume, and less people. The LAIKA panel discussion will be routed to screens throughout the museum, with additional seating in Sound & Vision Theater for viewing the discussion. Sunflower lanyards and noise-cancelling headphones will be available to rent.
Accessibility considerations within the Hidden Worlds exhibit include large print guides in English, neutral Spanish, and simplified Chinese, available at the 3rd floor ticketing kiosk. There will be QR codes throughout the exhibition with web exclusive content, English captioning on all in-gallery films, and interactives developed with universal design focus. Text in the exhibit is in Atkinson Hyper Legible font, provided by the Braille Institute, at a minimum of 18 points in size. All areas of the exhibit are wheelchair accessible.

This information-rich and interactive exhibit will take about 30 to 45 minutes to explore. Please note that it may take longer to make your way through the exhibit during busier periods.
