Remember when lip gloss tasted like, ugh, lip gloss? Thankfully, neither do we. In 1973, make-up manufacturer Bonne Belle had a tasty idea that saw lip gloss go from yuck to yum.

Lip Smacker-lovers licked their lips as the inaugural flavor of Strawberry was followed by an additional twenty-five mouth-watering options, including Dr. Pepper, Bubble Gum, and Pina Colada (hey, just because you have a Shirley Temple in your glass doesn't mean you can't have a Pina Colada on your lips).

Ahead of its time, Bonne Belle was against testing on animals (who ever met a rabbit that wears lipgloss anyway?) but was committed to testing on kids. (Okay, relax, not like in labs.) After all, with a combined purchasing power of $133 billion, it's the little lip smackers whose lips you'd want to be lip smacking with Lip Smackers.
