Ole Christiansen could have never imagined with the start of his company that the infamous single lego brick which was created in 1949 would become literally and figuratively the building blocks to millions of young imaginations around the world.

First called automatic binding bricks, the original lego slogan, 'det bedste er ikke for godt' meant 'only the best is good enough' was a testament not only to the inherent durability of the Lego Company itself but to the inherent pain we have all felt when stepping on one of these primary blocks of genius buried deep wthin the confines of a shag carpet with our bare feet. Played with for hours by children and adult artists alike to create whatever the imagination desires, these bricks remind us of the castles built and the importance of imagination.
