In 1911, George S. Barton, of Somerville, Massachussetts founded, and published the first edition of Boys' Life magazine. The monthly magazine of the Boy Scouts of America. He originally called it Boys' and Boy Scouts' Magazine. Known as one of the first magazines targeted to both youth or boys, it is iconic for having articles written by such noteable personalities and writers including Isaac Asimov, Alex Haley, Bobby Fischer and Ray Bradbury. The covers were oftern adorned by artists including Salvador Dali (trippy), Ansel Adams and Norman Rockwell (of Saturday Evening Post fame).

The content was often geared towards being a better boy scout, offerring tips on keeping your uniform clean and how to help someone in distress. In recent years, reflecting the changes in youth and culture, articles on drugs and video game reviews incuding how to cheat in the actual game have been incuded. I don't remember that being part of the boy scout oath. I better check the boy scout handbook, I need to find a crack for Angry Birds.
