Homeschool Day: Manga at the Museum
Join us for a marvelous day of manga at the museum!
Thursday, May 18, 2017
Led by teaching artist Nicole Pelham, you’ll learn the basics of manga-style drawing including expressions, motion, eyes, and, of course, super cool manga hair. Students will get hands-on experience drawing their own manga characters from top to tail with instruction on drawing faces, poses, and even costumes.
The day features a two-hour, hands-on workshop, a galley activity in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame exhibition (featuring manga artists Rumiko Takahashi and Hayao Miyazaki), as well as time to visit MoPOP galleries.
Classes are suitable for students 6–14 years of age. Parents are asked to be active participants in the workshop classes for the full program.
