Bored to Death Cancelled After 3 Seasons

It’s a sad day for TV, even if HBO doesn’t feel the same way. After 3 seasons, the comedy noir Bored to Death won’t be renewed for a fourth season. The show has a loyal following – fan have even set up a facebook page with a petition to save the show. There is still hope. After all, Stark Trek was also cancelled after its third season and we all know how that turned out.

Twinkies stay spongy and fresh for 25 days. But the parent company Hostess, which filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week, may have a shorter shelf life. Invented in 1930 by James Alexander Dewar, a baker for the Continental Baking Company, Hostess now turns out 1000 Twinkies per minute or about 500 million per year. Originally filled with banana cream, during World War II bananas became scarce. Hostess then decided to switch to vanilla cream. This ended up being much more popular than the banana filled version; so when bananas became readily available again, they chose not to switch back. Maybe its time for a change.

Jon Hamm let slip the news Mad Men fans have been waiting for: The fifth season will premiere on March 25th. Mad Men has been on hiatus since the first half of 2010. It has been kept off the air during contract negotiations. The creators have also confirmed that the show will last three more seasons with the seventh and last last taking place in present day which means Draper will be approximately 84 years old. Instead of starting the day with double scotches, will he be drinking double, non-fat, soy-lattes in an open concept office trying to optimize google ad-words? Stay tuned.
