Founded in 1996, the Hall of Fame was relocated from the Gunn Center for the Study of Science Fiction at the University of Kansas to its permanent home at MoPOP in 2004. The final inductees are chosen by a panel of award-winning science fiction and fantasy authors, artists, editors, publishers, and film professionals.

In honor of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame’s 20th anniversary, we invited the public in spring of 2016 to submit their favorite Creators and Creations. After tallying up your nominations (nearly 2,000 submissions!), a committee of industry experts narrowed down the list to the final twenty nominees. Stay tuned for the winners and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame event announcement!
